Directional Diversity Microwave DVB-T six channel receive site system - XNG wins two engineering awards, NAB 2008.
Directional Diversity Antenna System XNG

The first in a series of Next Generation News Gathering products, Troll Systems’ XNG receive system is a fully self-contained receive site.

The package includes:

  1. Six channel DVB-T diversity receiver.
  2. Unique steerable high-gain directional antenna.
  3. Five reconfigurable diversity panel antennas.
  4. Fully automated SIT “Signal Integrity Tracking” – automatic tracking software
  5. Self-contained system can be controlled from any remote location

The system is easy to install (only one cable is required from the controller to the antenna), and easy to operate.  Once the receive channel has been set, the A600 manages the link between the RF source and the receiver.  When one of the sector antennas detects a signal, the steerable high-gain antenna is automatically peaked and moved to improve signal strength, continuously optimizing its point to position during transmission.  It is this ability to track “signal integrity” that enables the A600 to outperform all competitive receive site solutions. Significantly automating the operation of your receive site furthers cost saving by reducing labor, and allowing your organization the freedom to hire non-technical personnel in place of microwave experts.   These distinct advantages enable you to concentrate on video content rather than RF capture.NAB Trade Show _ Troll Systems

In addition to the substantial cost reductions, the A600 features a number of technical innovations that set it apart from competitive systems. Foremost is the ability of diversity antennas to eliminate the effects of multi-path.  Another key feature is the use of UHF down converters and low noise amplifiers rather than SHF receivers to deliver the system’s dual ASI transport streams.  The A600 can be ordered with single or dual band capability in standard frequencies 2GHz, 3.5GHz, 4.9GHz and/or 7GHz.  Channel filtering and various polarizations are optionally available but the A600 receive site concept is really about the simplification and management of what was once a complex system.

Typical Applications Include:
            Electronic News Gathering
            Defense Infrastructure
            Military Surveillance
            Airborne Law Enforcement
            Border Security
