Santa Clarita, CA – transmitting high definition broadcast video creates unique challenges for airborne RF. Troll Systems continues to improve its popular SkyLink™ HD airborne two-axis steered antenna system with the introduction of an internal 3-axis gyro. Troll Systems high performance two–axis, azimuth and elevation steered antenna and exclusive inertial measurement unit (IMU) heading sensor are designed to accurately point the antenna to the receive sites and automatically compensate for the aircraft’s, pitch, roll and elevation. These innovations enable the SkyLink™ HD to focus a high gain, narrow beam directly at the targeted receive site. This improved accuracy, beam pattern and high-gain 16.5 dBi antenna increases the range of the signal and minimizes the effects of multi-path interference. Putting the gyro inside the SkyLink™ HD eliminates much of the time and expense involved in antenna installation. The system is smaller, lighter and has fewer cables to pull through the aircraft during installation. The new SkyLink™ HD internal gyro design also completely eliminates the need for a separate mounting surface inside the aircraft and requires minimal calibration and little, if any, on going maintenance.
On board operation has been streamlined with the C-100 controller. The C-100 features a touch screen, GPS moving map GUI interface that constantly updates the aircrafts position relative to ground sites. This intuitive interface provides spatial awareness over your entire flight path while pin-pointing optimal receive sites. Like all Troll equipment, the SkyLink™ HD and C-100 controllers are designed to be rugged and reliable for years of service in adverse and high RF environments.
