Deployable Video Downlink Transmit and Receive System
The SkyLink SP is the first deployable high-gain antenna system specifically developed for the 4.9 GHz public safety band (other bands available include 2 GHz to 15 GHz). The SkyLink SP transmits in a narrow 30 degree cone-shaped pattern directed at the receive sites. Unlike omni antenna systems which radiate the transmit signals in every direction, the SkyLink SP's transmission method improves range while reducing interference. Heading sensor and GPS data keep the antenna automatically pointed to the ground site to eliminate operator workload. The Skylink SP is DO160 tested and is currently being used by military and commercial customers all over the world.

The Skylink SP allows a Skylink Mini steerable antenna to be deployed downward, away from the aircraft fuselage (fixed wing or rotary), while the craft is in the air, in order to maximize the signal transmission and reception. Deploying the antenna dramatically improves the antenna's performance by moving away from sources of blockage and interference. |

| Troll's pilot panel provides on-board control of the antenna's deployment and retraction. |

Like all of Trolls' deployable antennas, the SP is fitted with a frangible link to ensure the safe landing even in the unlikely event that the antenna is not retracted before touch-down.
The system has passed DO160 testing.
