The S750 is the most advanced remote site controller
available today for Electronic News Gathering (ENG), Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) and other applications. The S750 interface between the TouchStar Master Controller and the remote receive site can control multiple antennas, receivers, routers, and other remote equipment, including the latest digital receivers and decoders. Its modern design incorporates the latest technology, a 32-bit architecture, with extensive built-in diagnostic and test features. It’s advanced Windows® CE 5.0 real-time Operating System delivers remarkable performance while providing a PC-compatible platform for PC based networks. The S750 has numerous communications options, providing connections over Ethernet, modems, T1 microwave or fiber mediums.
For complex systems, the S750’s capabilities can be expanded with the addition of an X750 or X350 expansion chassis.
The X750 expansion chassis allows the control of additional steerable devices. The X350 allows the control of non-steerable devices. Both expansion chassis can add additional parallel and serial capabilities to the system.X750s and X350s are USB devices and connect to the S750’s spare USB ports.
The “S” series site controllers offer a wide variety of ConTroll-PACs which provide solutions for specific functionality. A ConTroll-PAC is a hardware and/or software package added to an existing S750, X750 or X350. They allow for control of additional hardware such as receivers, transmitters, digital encoders, spectrum viewers and switchers. Other ConTroll-PACs provide advanced communications options such as RF, microwave, TCP/IP, cellular and fiber optic transmission as well as GPS tracking via NavTrack.
Like all Troll equipment, the S750 was designed to be rugged and reliable for years of service in adverse environments. Careful attention to design and manufacture assure performance and reliability, especially in high RF environments that are common to remote ENG facilities.

As broadcast engineers increasingly turn to Troll Systems to replace analog remote sites with HD ready digital control, Troll has introduced the SpecTroll Viewer a real-time 800Mhz Spectrum monitor. Available as an option on the popular S750, the SpecTroll Viewer provides ENG operators with an intuitive way to align remote site RF antennas to maximize antenna gain and provide the best possible video signal.
SpecTroll Viewer provides raw spectrum data at 800MHz (pre IF filtering and AGC), fully integrated into the TouchStar™ Master Controller GUI (Graphic User Interface). Displayed in real-time over existing communications links, the SpecTroll does not require any communications upgrades.
Specifically designed for operators who need to quickly tune ENG shots, the SpecTroll viewer can display the complete channel plan, up to a 80MHz of bandwidth at one time. Operators can also adjust the span display to isolate individual 10MHz bands. This finite viewer control enables users to identify and adjust for common types of interference like spectral re-growth, multi-path and co-channel interference that could potentially lead to a cliff effect. The SpecTroll Viewer also makes it easy to see signal distortions that typically occur when ENG operators overdrive an RF signal.
